Beautiful Butter By Nadia

 Nadia Tarr, the quite brilliant (and self taught) designer behind the Butter by Nadia range was a dancer and choreographer in her previous career - which perhaps accounts for the beautiful flow and movement of these dresses.  'Why hasn't anyone thought of this before?' was the cry when we saw the myriad of ways the pieces can be worn, but then isn't that true of every great innovation?
The concept is simple - in both the full length and knee length dress two wide bands of fabric creating the upper part of the garment can be wrapped and draped to create halter necks, plunging necklines, strapless and backless dresses which fit the wearer like they were made for them....which infact they were.
The resulting dress is stop the traffic glamorous, so it's little wonder that Butter by Nadia is a firm favourite with some of Hollywood's fashion elite - Sarah Jessica Parker and Naomi Watts are both big fans!

Nougat

The Nougat collection this season is ultra feminine and seems to span history for inspiration! Ancient Greece is seen in the flattering draped silhouette of the fine jersey dresses. With a palette ranging from soft sages, browns and lilac greys to fabulous jewelled blues and violets, the look is understated and sexy. The 1950's is also an influence within the range, geometric patterned knee length skirts and sleeveless dresses are straight out of Desperate Housewives and a stunning fitted white dress is seemingly borrowed from Audrey Hepburn! Perfectly cut linen trousers teamed with beautifully embroidered vest tops are simply timeless, and complete a collection in Spirit that is perfect summer wear, romantic and beautifully feminine....very Nougat!

Sunny St Tropez

The Danish brand St Tropez proves time and again to be a firm favorite with Spirit customers, and with just a glance at the collection for summer 2011 it's easy to see why! Ultra feminine chiffon beaded dresses, softly draping silky trousers and funky tops (check out the tunic with embroidered angels wings!) in khakis, pinks and taupes sit alongside studded vest tops and fabulously fitted t shirts in mouth watering colours. Uber cool black and white photo imagery of an American Indian on horseback is printed on a fine vest, tailor made for layering throughout the summer months. Spring Fashion Show

Roll up roll up...

We are holding our fabulous Summer Fashion Show at 7:30pm on Thursday 19th May at Pizza Express, Devizes. Watch our collections float down the catwalk whilst you enjoy a glass of bubbly and a scrummy meal.

Tickets include a glass of fizz, nibbles and a pizza of your choice, available in our Devizes, Marlborough and Bradford on Avon stores (if you are in Frome, just pop in and we will be glad to sort something for you.)

 Glamour at Devizes for charity

 "A fashion show at Devizes Town Hall raised almost £1,500 for charity.

The show, on October 7, was organised by Rose Webster, owner of Spirit fashion shop in Devizes.

Models wore evening and wedding dresses by Ceri Brooks, hats by Joan Pressley, underwear from Mystique and coats, casualwear and designer clothes by Spirit and Cielo Blu, all based in Devizes.

The money raised will go the Spinal Bleeds Trust, a charity set up by Mrs Webster’s sister, Sandra Rowden whose son Will, 19, was paralysed from the chest downwards following a spinal bleed when he was eight."

Just a week ago...

Thursday 7th October saw one of the highlights of the fashion year in Wiltshire in the glamorous form of an Autumn fashion show, held in the grand surroundings of the Georgian Town Hall, Devizes. Organized by Rose Webster, owner and founder of the beautiful 'Spirit' boutiques, the capacity audience enjoyed champagne before being treated to a first half of bespoke evening and wedding dresses from Ceri Brooks, fabulous hats from Joan Pressley and gorgeous underwear from 'Mystique'. 

Following delicious canapes during the interval and several lucky audience members winning stunning silver jewellery from Fi Mehra during a round of 'Heads and Tails', the second half really highlighted why independant boutiques are so crucial to the fashion industry. Model after model from 'Cielo Blu' and 'Spirit' strutted onto the catwalk in a range of beautiful coats, casualwear, drop dead gorgeous designer looks and evening pieces all sharing one thing - the individuality that is often sadly lacking on the high street.

With proceeds from the evening going to The Spinal Bleeds Trust, the evening was a resounding success - the winter months ahead seem suddenly to offer a myriad of opportunities to look and feel fantastic!
