Part Two

Joan of Arc and Elizabeth I.
A distant past with two rugged, sensitive and almost divine heroines, who were warriors and protectors at the same time. They wore armour and dresses, expressing masculine power with sensitivity and grace, while representing a strong form of womanhood full of intriguing contrasts.

Part Two's 2010 autumn collection is a striking reflection of this contrasting image of womanhood. Design Manager Pernille Skriver's point of departure is a masculine uniform style with a slim silhouette and an emphasis on fascinating details.

The collection focuses on work clothes inspired by suits of armour from the past and a World War II military look with a range of functional details. The look is reflected in coated and metallic surfaces, leather and rivets, as well as heavy knits and canvas. Incorporated into this rugged look is a more delicate style featuring Victorian-inspired lace details, washed silk and beautiful botanical prints.

Part Two - it begins with you...

Sandwich

This season, Sandwich focuses on a variety of modern knits with speciality stitching, draping necks and rich detailing.

Colours are dusty tones of brick red, stormy blues and sage green in combination with a neutral base of black, grey, sand, taupe and white.

Prints include graphic dots, checks, floral and leaf patterns, multi-hued hatching mixed together for a patchwork feeling, and prints inspired by urban scenery such as buildings, city lights and graphic face prints.

The focus is on silhouettes rather than busy detailing, with long, oversized tunic tops or knee-length dresses over detailed leggings. Knit cardigans and pullovers include chunky cables, punto Milano, slub yarns and multi-colour yarns, while large cowl necks and fringe detailing give an elegant look.

Sandwich is a fantastic brand that has been with us since the doors of Spirit first opened.

Available in Devizes, Frome and Bradford On Avon.

DAY - From Riches To Rags

For Autumn/Winter 2010, the DAY woman inhabits a new, old world, rich in sumptuous, silk lined luxury, but full of bohemian quirks.

The opulence is inspired by Russian art and culture - sources as diverse as Cossack ornaments, unbelievable winter palace interiors and the costume sketches of Leon Bakst.

So a young pre-revolution Russian aristo goes boho. After all, who would dare tell her what she can and cannot do? She does as she pleases and pairs her billowing silks with the shrunken suit jacket of Charlie Chaplin's little tramp.
She mixes ethnic peasant embroideries with crisp, military tailoring, trims her clothes with fur and tassels of all descriptions, dresses up as an admiral and down as a tomboy.

Self-expression has never been this good.

DAY Birger et Mikkelsen is exclusive to Marlborough.

ICHI

ICHI's autumn collection has made no attempt to hide the heavy rock influence with chains, punk-style rivets, skulls and diamante jostling with graphic prints such as bleeding hearts, wings and stars. All these super-cool details bring out the raw and rebellious biker look.

The colour scheme is dominated by black, grey and dusky blue, set off by a touch of rouge red and lime.

Worn-look jeans keep true to the racy biker theme, emphasised by sleeveless, washed out tops, military and uniform details and high-rise shoulders.

This means an exciting Autumn lies in wait, expressing speed perfect for women with loads of confidence and an appetite for life.

This fabulous collection is available in Devizes, Frome, Marlborough and Bradford On Avon stores.

Saint Tropez

For Autumn, the themes for the Saint Tropez collection are "Military Roots" and "Twisted Poetry", with inspiration from military shapes and details such as double breasted jackets and knits, shoulder straps and military buttons with "code of arms" embossments.

On the feminine side they use embroidery, lace, beads and smock details, using these details in different ways to get a new and refreshing expression in the collection.

Black and grey tones are still going strong for this season but colours like army and brown are becoming more and more important. Various tones of purple and powder create a soft contrast to the neutral earth colours and gives a beautiful harmony throughout the collection.

We currently stock Saint Tropez in all four stores, holding some fantastic core pieces for your Autumn wardrobe. Don't miss out!
